SIG Security FOCUS-seminar 10 April – Reminder

SIG Security hereby invites all members to a FOCUS seminar, where we will investigate upcoming game-changing metods for management of IT security and information risks. Also, we will get some international views on the IT threat landscape. Since we will have a large number of English-speaking presenters this year, this whole invitation will be in English.

Marta Piekarska is a researcher at Telekom Innovation Laboratories and a security architect at Blockstream, where she focusses on user-informed privacy and security, and applications of blockchain technology beyond cryptocurrency. At Deutsche Telekom she was the lead architect on the Future of Mobile Privacy, a collaboration with Mozilla and Deutsche Telekom improving Firefox OS.

What are the Statistical Methods for Risk Assessment in Other Industries?

William Van Der Merwe is a business developer at Palisade, a supplier of software for statistical calculations of risk. He will show some hands-on examples on how risk is being calculated – even statistically simulated – in the insurance industry and the oil&gas industry.
